Hello friends! Happy New Year! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted on my blog. I have been working hard to discover who I am as a photographer and my “style”. In the next couple of months, I hope to be revamping my blog and finally having a website to show my fine art wedding photography. This is an exciting time and I hope you will continue to follow my blog.

Here are some photos that I took while working alongside Mimi Nguyen, someone who I’ve truly enjoyed second shooting with over the last year. Thank you, Mimi, for the opportunities and as always, I look forward to working with you in the future.

It was just a perfect wedding day at the Long Beach Museum of Art in Long Beach, CA … breathtaking views, lovely details, gorgeous venue, delicious food, and a beautiful couple! Kim and Parker taught at the same school and fell in love 3 years ago!

ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY :: NORMA + TOM

I was asked to do a photo session for a one year wedding anniversary and I just thought to myself …what a sweet idea! Who says you can only do engagement portraits?! Norma and Tom chose San Juan Capistrano Los Rios District as the special location. I willingly agreed because I love the history behind the district and there’s so many cool photo ops there! Near the end of the shoot, a Cracker Jack sign at the restaurant caught my eye and got my creative juice going. AWESOME!

OLD ORANGE COUNTY COURTHOUSE WEDDING :: JOENA + RICHIE

It was small, quaint, darling, and full of love. She was beautiful. He wore his heart on his sleeve. Separately, they were stunning…. together they were breathtaking.
Joena and Richie were married a few weeks back at the Old Orange County Courthouse. They were surrounded by their family and closest friends.
They exchanged their vows and proclaimed their love for each other at the courthouse and then held a very intimate celebration later that evening at th e Eight Courses of Fish Restaurant.

ROSE + TONY :: ORANGE COUNTY ENGAGEMENT

Rose & Tony could be the most hip people I know! They made this photo shoot so enjoyable for me! Their engagement party was a unique celebration with great style and taste. When they said they wanted me to take their engagement party pictures at a Tustin Clubhouse, I was very excited and could not wait for that day to come. I had so much fun laughing with Rose & Tony! Good luck to the lovely couple on their journey through wedding preps to a happily ever after!

I once again had the honor to second shoot with Mimi Nguyen from Mimi Nguyen Photography. She is an amazing local photographer in Orange County, California. What I love about second shooting is that I get the opportunity to work with another photographer. I also get the chance to shoot the event from a different perspective; I can kind of be invisible while the principle photographer is in charge of everything. In a sense, I can relax and capture things in a photojournalistic way. Here are some of my images from the wedding that Mimi so generously allowed me to post.

JASMINE STAR WORKSHOP

Last week, I had the most amazing opportunity. I got to spend a day with JASMINE STAR, JD and “Mom”! Well, me and 19 other people of course. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Jasmine Star’s photography workshop. She is unquestionably one of the titans of this industry with an incredible wealth of knowledge in marketing and building your brand as a wedding photographer. She not only is a great person to learn from, but her workshop also gave me the tools to go out and help change the industry. We also had the opportunity in the afternoon to shoot. We shot in many locations that I have seen before, but the way she had us look at it in a new light was quite refreshing. Finally, we ended with a wonderful dinner at Maggiano’s. Jasmine poured her heart into this day… sharing her expertise, her “secrets” and her SELF and it was such an incredible experience… I can’t say enough about it. If you ever get a chance to not only hear Jasmine speak, but hang out with her for the day, I’d highly recommend it! Thanks Jasmine and JD for such a wonderful experience, one that I will never forget!

MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE: MADISON’S 2nd BIRTHDAY PARTY

Have you ever watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with a child? I’ve seen it numerous times with my nephews and nieces, but was lucky enough to experience it last week at Madison’s 2nd birthday celebration. Madison invited what felt like hundreds of her closest friends and family and boy what a party it was!!! Even Mickey and Minnie showed up! There were lots of food, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy and even some fun games to entertain all the kids! There was also an excellent face painter , Charlene Ngo, who did an awesome job with her creative artwork. The balloon animal artist, Brenda Bourges from FaceFormers.com, did some cool stuff as well! After all the food and fun, it was time for the amazing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake! I must admit, it’s definitely one of my favorite cakes! Check out the memories that Madison will get to look back on when she grows up.

ALBUM DESIGN

One question I have received a few times is how I design my wedding albums. At first, designing an album was a terribly dreaded task for me. I was slow and felt I just really wasn’t good at creating pleasing compositions. However, once I started getting into the method, designing albums became much easier…and even a little bit fun! I thought it might be a good idea to write a blog about album designs! Since in the past I have always design my own album I made the jump to outsourced my workflow to Albumesque . They can pretty much do anything in terms of design and style when it comes to the layouts of your album. I can ask them to stick with the traditional layout option or go for something a little bit more modern and design in a storybook fashion. It is entirely up to you which way you’d like us to design your album. Anyways, I’ll leave you with a recent album design layouts so you can see the kind of work they can do!
